Pharmacology is sending out kudos to Merci Ngozi Best (3rd Year Pharmacology Student in George Bloom’s Lab) for being one of the recipients of the UVA Double Hoo research awards.

Merci will be working with Yunu Lim (a second-year neuroscience major), to research the interplay between tau, a protein with significant implications in Alzheimer’s disease, and the axon initial segment in a cellular model of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Double Hoo awards fund collaborations between undergraduate and graduate students and includes $6000 toward research expenses, funded through the Robert C. Taylor Fund.
