Congratulations to Pharmacology graduate students, Vlad Serbulea (Leitinger Lab) and Michael Schappe (Desai Lab), both of whom received a Double Hoo Research Grant. The Double Hoo Research Grant supports pairs of undergraduate and graduate scholars seeking to pursue joint research projects. The award is intended to encourage collaborative interaction between the undergraduate and graduate communities at the University.
Vlad Serbulea paired up with undergraduate Dory DeWeese and received support for their project “Identifying Pro-inflammatory Oxidized Phospholipids in Obesity and Diabetes.” Michael Schappe will be investigating “TRPM7: Regulator of Macrophage Function in Inflammation” with undergraduate trainee Taylor Downs.
