Garrett Mullins Wins the 2014 Rall Award

Congratulations to Garrett Mullins, recipient of the 2014 Rall Award for the best paper by a Pharmacology Student published in the calendar year. Garrett received the award at our 2015 Pharmacology Retreat earlier this week. His publication, ‘Catecholamine-Induced Lipolysis Inhibits Glucose Uptake and Causes mTOR Complex Dissociation in Adipocytes,’ was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) on December 9th 2014.  PNAS is one of the world’s most cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals, publishing around 3,800 research papers annually. Garrett received his PhD in Pharmacology in May 2015 and is currently serving as a Clinical Chemistry Fellow in the Department of Pathology at University of Virginia.
