Former PSTG Trainee Kendra Simpson Serving as a STEM Mentor to Underrepresented Youth

September 29, 2015 by zrb8mf@virginia.edu

Alumni often choose interesting career paths and Kendra Simpson, Ph.D. (Pathology, 2012) is doing just that! Dr. Simpson, who was supported by the Pharmacological Sciences Training Grant during her enrollment at UVa, is currently serving as a mentor in the STEM Valley Mentoring Collation, a group dedicated to leading a national movement to develop an effective model for connecting low-income students, students from minority populations, and female students with high-impact mentoring that increases interest in STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We found some fun pictures of Dr. Simpson in action on the STEM Valley Mentoring Instagram and Facebook pages. Thanks, Dr. Simpson, for making a difference to the next generation!
