Douglas Bayliss Elected AAAS Fellow

Congratulations to Douglas A. Bayliss, Joseph and Frances Larner Professor and Chair of Pharmacology, who was recently selected as a fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)! UVAToday Editor Brian Murphy reports that, “…the AAAS Council elects members whose ‘efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished.'” and that “[Dr.] Bayliss was recognized for his contributions to molecular pharmacology, physiology and neuroscience, particularly advancing our understanding of ion channels and their contributions to physiological processes and drug action.” Read the full scoop in Murphy’s article, “Medical School’s Douglas Bayliss Elected AAAS Fellow.”
